Hi...
N3 .241 on Win 7 32-bit
It doesn't seem to auto-search for updates and when I go to HELP>CHECK FOR UPDATES it gives the error message "An error occurred trying to contact the server (259)"
Any insight?
Thanks...Jim W.

Re: Hissing due to un-authorized IK products
Bummer. This webpage didn't work for you? http://www.ikmultimedia.com/Main.html?User.php They ask you for a whole bunch of info, a lot of which you can probably answer "N/A" to, but I did get a response from them fairly quickly, once I submitted my question. Well, I got a message through ...

Re: Hissing due to un-authorized IK products
You should contact 1K tech support about this. I just had to erase my hard drive (Mac problems) so I found that my 1K plug-ins were no longer working. If you contact them, they can set you up with what you need. Unfortunately, they no longer accept phone calls, so you have to go through their websi...

Re: Hissing due to un-authorized IK products
Yes, As it should state on your User Guide and your serial card, unless you authorize all IK products it would have the hissing noise you describe. There is a further requirement on Vista which is actually not a NOTION bug - you need to authorize the IK products as an administrator and run NOTION a...

Re: Slur Rules and GPO
I stand corrected. Once I installed the software from the disk (I had the demo prior), everything started working exactly as it should. I'm not sure if that was intentional with the demo, but everything is working now. Excellent. I couldn't duplicate the error. One more thing I can cross off my to-...

Re: Slur Rules and GPO
There is one fact you must know: for CC103 auto-legato to work, NOTES MUST OVERLAP by at least one tick. If they don't overlap, CC103 auto-legato will not engage. So look and see that the notes you want to slur are overlapping. Thanks for the info. Do you (or anyone else) happen to know if there is...

Re: Slur Rules and GPO
Best strategy is to ignore the notation instruments and Auto-Legato in GPO ARIA. Use the regular GPO instruments and let NOTION handle the legato. For some reason, ARIA isn't responding to the auto legato feature when used in Notion3. Has anyone else experienced this issue and/or know a good work a...

Re: First impressions...
Hi, Jon... Nice to see you here...nice work for a NOTION beginner...now let's get some Kapustin goin' !! Let's try to orchestrate a piano piece! Had I mentioned to you that I did a very usable version of MOTIVE FORCE for my brass quintet? I can never get the sound I want using the panning and reverb...

Re: Can Notion replace Sibelius?
Hi, everyone... Just getting into Notion. Since I am also known in Overture-Land, I'll come to this thread to ask a couple of questions: 1. One thing I like about Overture is the randomize (humanize) function--I don't see a way to do that in Notion. Am I missing some function that can randomize note...

Re: Slur Rules and GPO
1. I have taken a look at the GPO_Aria rules file and noticed that there are slur rules for strings (solo and ensemble) but not for any other instrument. 2. Why is the CC# used in GPO_Aria slur rules set to 64 when GPO uses 68 to evoke slurs? 3. Why doesn't a slur still not work when I change CC# u...
