Re: Cross staff notation

Yeah, that cross-staff beaming looks like some serious rocket-science stuff. I can't imagine a more difficult logic problem in all of computer science. I don't know notion internals, but the logic on how this should work isn't too complicated. http://smalbanynewyork.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/head...

Re: High Initial Latency with Notion Instruments Played Live

FYI - After trying some suggestions from tech support to no avail, it occurred to me to try re-installing just the piano.prox file. The file name and date did not change, but apparently something got reset somewhere, because the problem has all but completely disappeared. There is still the slightes...

Re: VSTi Settings Not Saved With Notion File...?

Strange. I can't imagine how this would be platform or config-dependent, but it is definitely not working here.

Maybe I need more RAM... :D

Re: High Initial Latency with Notion Instruments Played Live

I have 4GB. I know this is getting to be considered puny these days, but the entire Notion Piano is only 690MB, and with the Piano loaded in Notion, and this browser running, Windows Resource Monitor still shows 2.5GB available. However, I just checked, and I the smaller instruments do not exhibit t...

VSTi Settings Not Saved With Notion File...?

So I have this solo piano project that I changed from using Notion's piano to TruePianos. I selected a non-default piano patch, and tweaked some settings in the VSTi interface, and saved the project. Today when I open it, I'm hearing the default piano. So I open the TruePianos interface, and all the...

High Initial Latency with Notion Instruments Played Live

I'm finding that Notion's bundled instruments are very slow to respond to live MIDI input when first loaded. After I've played all the notes used in a particular piece at least once, and sometimes several times, the instrument starts to respond with only the latency of the ASIO buffer (128 samples) ...

N4 NTempo Velocity Function Not Working with VSTi

I was playing around last night with NTempo mode, performing a solo piano piece from a MIDI keyboard, using Notion's piano. Both tempo and dynamic control worked beautifully. Very cool feature! But when I changed the instrument to TruePianos (x64), I lost velocity control. Is that WAD for using VSTi...

Re: "Paste Insert" Command Gone Missing...?

The problem is that regular paste replaces existing material. So you have a choice of replacing or displacing, but not blending/merging. I worked around it by merging the two parts together in SONAR before importing the MIDI file to Notion.

Re: "Paste Insert" Command Gone Missing...?

Hmmm... still not getting what I want. Apparently this is like inserting text; it moves the existing material later, rather than blending old and new.

Coming from SONARland, the logic of this app is a little befuddling. I can't paste something and have it just drop in on top of what's already there?
