Re: Notion 3.0.236

Is there a What's New file for version 3.3.236? I'm just wondering what has changed.

Re: N3 is here!

Congratulations to everyone at Notion. Great work!

I've really enjoyed Beta testing N3. Even though it was Beta, I was able to get some real work done with N3. Tomorrow night I'll be performing 5 jazz charts I wrote with N3 for four horns and rhythm section. It's a great tool!

Re: Back from the land of Sibelius 5 and Finale 2009

The Notion developers have done a fantastic job of writing efficient code for Notion 3. I'm running it on a old laptop with only 512MB of RAM. My C drive is too full to fit the 9GB of sound files, so I installed Notion 3 on an external drive that is connected by USB 1.1 (which is very slow). Even wi...

Re: Back from the land of Sibelius 5 and Finale 2009

So I got it into my head that Sibelius 5 and Finale 2009 offered more features to better composer orchestral music. What I found was the following: 1. Both ARE very deep programs with lots of fantastic scoring features 2. Both have varying levels of learning curves. Each interface has its own pros ...

Notion 3

I've been Beta testing Notion 3, and I was thrilled yesterday not only to get the latest build, but to get the word from Lubo that it is now OK to discuss Notion 3 and spread the word. I've posted an entry on my website with some screen shots and sound clips of Notion 3. http://koka.phpwebhosting.co...

Re: Bridging the gap between notation software and your DAW..

Just wondering how some of you incorporate your notation software with your DAW? Some programs seem to be more oriented to do this well some don't. I prefer to compose for certain instruments (strings, brass, some percussion....) with notation and samples. Finale and Sibelius seem to be "tryin...

Feature request - hide lines above and below staff

One of the ways I use Notion is to write instructional materials for my guitar students. I notate in Notion, then use a screen capture to snip a music example, save it as jpeg, and put it into the HTML. Here's an example: temp_image.jpg The problem is that the lines above and below the staff, which ...

Re: NOTION 3 "wish list"

I'd like an easier way to change the tempo for playback. I use Notion in my teaching, creating backing tracks for my students to play along with. I'd like to be able to, say, click on the tempo indication and quickly change the quarter-note-equals value.
