Re: Version 4.0.324 crashes sometimes
I had similar problems with the updated version, not consitent enough to report a specific bug, but just once in awhile it crashed, sometimes on exiting the program, sometimes just randomly while I'm working. I at least had the caution to copy my previously installed Notion, just copied the entire p...

hairpins and dynamics move themselves and become unattached
Anybody else have this problem?? I occasionaly get a weird error that seems to occur when hairpins and/or dynamic markings move around a little (I don't move them, they just move themselves) and the start or end of the hairpin gets kind of "lost". Sometimes (not always), later it crashes t...

Re: Shift-Y: what will it do?
:geek: I am just another ordinary user out here, not a NotionMusic guy or anything, but from what has been explained to us thus far... assuming you already followed previous thread about the "shift-Y" feature (which is still not actually working yet)... http://forum.notionmusic.com/viewtop...

downloads/Notion4 "latest version" 4.0.317 ?!?
What's up with the versioning and stability of Notion 4 updates? It was at version 4.0.324 when I downloaded "latest version" a few days ago... It had been at version 4.0.320 since January... BUT NOW the "latest version" on the NotionMusic.com downloads page is reverted to 4.0.31...

Re: NOTION 4 forgets to switch channels?
same problem here, verified with extensive testing. Any rule that changes midi channels always still transmits all the CC data on the "default" midi channel 1 only. Note data gets transmitted on the assigned channel while CC data is transmitted on the WRONG channel. No good at all. It must...

Re: Shift Y and Group ID for Rules
I'm sure there are many cool improvements (like the move to full 64bit kinda tops the list IMHO). It's just that I'm kinda in the middle of writing a symphony at the moment, and I hesitate to change horses midstream. (I don't mean to hijack the thread here, but has there been any testing of installi...

Re: Customizing Rule Sets for Notion with VSL
Having tried a few approaches with customized VSL instruments... The simplest method I have found quick success with is to set a CC# to an unused instrument parameter (like filter, or attack) and then making a rule that tests for an articulation marking to apply a value to that CC#. Just be sure to ...

Re: Shift Y and Group ID for Rules
I jumped at the upgrade/update from Notion3 to Notion4, but I am holding off actually moving to really using version 4 until THIS most powerful feature is enabled. This is huge, the capability to attach rules so easily to any instrument opens up the magic of Notion's greatest capabilities. Being abl...

Re: MIDI foot controller
This might be a bit more than what you had in mind... but you'd probably be interested anyway since you are talking about live performance: There is a very useful programmable midi controller foot thing made by Beringer called "FCB-1010" which could very easily be set up to do exactly what...

Re: Contribution and Organization of Custom Rules
cool, you got my vote too. This is a good way for us to all gain by a cooperative naming convention.
When I do get to writing new rules for Notion4 I will definately refer back to this thread and use same (and share!)
