Re: Mixer Sections
Actually, the English Horn is the only Notion Instrument. All the others are from VSL. I guessed that this was controlled by the instrument manufacturer, but wasn't sure.

Mixer Sections
How are instruments assigned to different sections in the mixer? I'm working on a piece and have "wwinds" which includes only an English Horn at the moment, and "winds" which includes Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, and Bassoon. Why is the English Horn in its own group? Can...

Re: Score Library
This is a great idea, but the copyright issues are certainly there. However, for work in the public domain, I think it would be a great resource. It's a parallel to the IMSLP http://imslp.org/.

Re: Approching mastering through mixing
This is certainly something we've discussed, but is not currently "in the works." You can always use ReWire with any DAW and work the automation in that program. I've done it with ProTools, Logic, and Live with really good success. Hope this helps! Kyle Kyle, any chance that you could do ...

Re: Rewire with Notion
Thanks, Surfwhammy. I replaced the hard drive myself and I've upgraded the memory before, it is very easy. I don't want to over-invest in a 5 year old machine, but a 6gb upgrade for this vintage is about $127 so I guess that's not too bad.

Re: Rewire with Notion
Thanks for all the info. I have a 2.4ghz intel core duo with 4 mb ram. It's a workhorse. I replaced the hard drive a year or so ago with a 1tb seagate and I have a couple of external drives as well. Maybe I should look into more RAM. 6gb is the max in this machine.
