Re: Playback on Chords?

Sure, you have to input slash notation for the rhythm.

Re: Drum specific notation -writing drum scores

It does a good job for most things. The main weakness is that it doesn't automatically change noteheads for the different instruments.

Re: Chord Entry

Use the keyboard, tap the chord button and the pencil. Play the chord on the keyboard. iPad is multi-touch, so you don't have to do it one note at a time

Re: Step entry over write notes without deleting

I'm not sure any software does what you are asking in step time. You can do it with the mouse pretty easily. To change your quarters to 8ths, choose the 8th note (E), click on the notehead and then enter another 8th between it and the next quarter note. To change a note to a rest type EE and click t...

Re: newbie help in importing midi file

Importing MIDI files is likely to produce errors, but I've found Notion to be much better at it than other notation programs. I'm not exactly sure how, but it seems to get rhythms such as staccato quarters rather than eighth note/rest right more often than not. It really depends a lot on the MIDI fi...

Re: newbie help in importing midi file

I'm not sure how to fix the chords/16th note problem but as to the left hand/right hand, this is best fixed in Reason. Create a second track on a separate MIDI channel. Cut the left hand notes from the original track and paste them into the new track and export the MIDI file as Type 1. Notion will i...

I've nosed around this discussion looking for some answers and watched some YouTube videos on N3 Custom Rules, but I still have some questions. Please forgive me if they've been asked and answered before. 1. The video mentions a file Cu...

MIDI Guitar

I'm using the TriplePlay MIDI pickup on my guitar with Notion. One of the idiosyncrasies of this device is that pitch bend needs to be set to an octave on both the controller and the output synth or hammers, slides, etc won't play. Does anyone no a way to change the pitch bend range in Notion? I've ...

Re: Placement of Fine, D.S., and D.C.

Try attaching them to the barline rather than one of the other grid locations. I agree it's a little tricky. IMHO these are items that should only be attached to barlines. Who places a D.S in the middle of a measure?
