Re: newbie help in importing midi file
Hello miahluvdd, I gave up on importing MIDI files into notation software years ago. As you know, music can be interpreted differently by different listeners. Transcriptions can be written very different. There's more than one way to notate a given piece of music. File conversion from SMF (Standard ...

Re: File Format Compatibility N3 N4
David, Back when N4 was released in a phone conversation Notion Support told me Notion 4 files are backward compatible with Notion 3 and vise versa. I guess that includes Win and Mac. At this point in development (N3 and N4) they are all compatible. FYI, I have swapped (created, sent and opened) Win ...

Re: Two eighth notes = Dotted eighth sixteenth notation
untitled.png I see your tempo marking example as an indicator of "Swing" style. The down beat eight note is longer than the second. See the Notion 4 User Guide 10.30 and 10.31. The "quickly prepared" attached Notion example file uses "Swing" with various settings in di...

Re: Hide parts ...
Thanks Michael.
I missed that GyorgyL asked about hiding "empty" parts. Empty\Resting measures I assume.
Also recall, the "Hide Resting Staves" feature only applies if the "View" menu is set to "Pages Across" or "Pages Down".

Re: Hide parts ...
In the "Score Setup" if you click the "Green Eye" button of the staff you wish to change it will "Hide" the selected staff and it's color changes to "Gray". The staff instrument plays normally; however it is hidden from view in the score on screen and from a p...

Re: multi-measure rest ......
Why choose numbers in function multi- measure rest? In the file that I posted, there is a bar (131) alone in one system....why? That's a good question. I believe it should be an on/off function. The number changes nothing that I can detect. It is either "none" or (on = any number you inpu...

Re: Multiple measure rests
Hi Ron, It can be a challenge to get the desired look and it certainly can take some trial and error. Hope the Notion 4 file (a low detailed example) I've included will help you find a similar method to achieve your needs. (I'm not very good at explaining step by step methods. Hope it's not too conf...

Re: Contrabass Playback
I understand your complaints, I really do. DaddyO, My comments came after the provoking comments. I didn't start "any " strife or ill feelings in my reply earlier in this post. I would remove my posted comments you find "brutal" ; however, I'd have nothing to apology for. Then I...
