In the Outbox all sent messages that have not yet been read by the recipient are stored.
As soon as the message is read, it is displayed under sent messages.

If these libraries use keyswitches, you can just enter the keyswitch notes on an extra staff and link it to the instrument.

Kontakt sometimes does this with me in Logic 9. So far I have not experienced it in Notion, but the issue exists.

If this one situation is the only occurance of the "slower version", then I'd use double values, especially if it is in the middle of a piece. If you want to insert a section break there (i.e. when writing variations), you can also use the slower tempo, but I'd stick with larger note value...

What do you mean by QuickTime Instruments?
The regular DSL Music Device? Or Audio Units.
Notion does not support Audio Units, only VSTs, so make sure you have your plugins installed as Audio Units.

As far as I know you can load SoundFonts into the DLS Music device.
