Re: Notion and Logic 9

Further Integration of Notion and Logic 7/9 would be a fine match for my experience and tastes.

Re: problem with the tonal range of instruments

Another way to get to extreme ranges is to put in a note, and then move it way down, allowing subsequent notes to be entered. I put in a note, then use the arrow key to move it down. I agree it would be nice to drag while entering.

Re: New to Notion questions: backgnd color, +

Notion does not provide a "paper" option.

About simultaneous notes of different durations, currently, I'm pretty sure the only way to achieve this is to create multiple parts (see multi-voice entry 8.15). It is not a perfect sol'n.

Re: how dynamics really works?

Two comments on this. Re: dynamics. There are some issues with dynamics that I've reported to N. What I most frequently encounter is that a part won't respond to a dynamic or a hairpin. What I've found (as thorrid indicates) is that often, the solution is add the dynamic above the note instead of be...

Re: Score Setup: how to get back

My solution for "where am i" after Setup is to press [. The program remembers where you are, but doesn't show it. This gets you back to current position. (I agree it should not be necessary.) Also, re: home, end keys: on Windows, I'm used to using these, but not on traditionally on Macs. Th...

Re: plug-ins you've found that work/don't work?

Hi Nick,
I'm running iMac with sys 10.5.7. The rest is the same. It enables/disables properly and plays. It was nifty to see the dials turn in real-time in response to dynamics.

plug-ins you've found that work/don't work?

Since N3 has VST, I went looking to see what was around. There are two kinds: instruments and effects. I've discovered no "comprehensive lists" thought there are many sites with short lists. I've found that older ones (before ~2006) generally won't work (cannot be enabled with VST Mgr), an...
