Re: How do you do drum rolls/flams?
SnareExample.wav I will have to beg to differe, Meister Thorrild. I believe the markup works just fine, but I enter mine from the palette as opposed to the keyboard shortcuts... [snip] Is it possible your entry method is breaking the flam for you? Kurt M. Landre' https://www.SoundCloud.com/kmlandre...

Re: How do you do drum rolls/flams?
A couple of questions about composing drums: 1. How do you do a snare or cymbal roll? Select the note(s) you want to roll and press the slash key [/] 3 times. 2. How do you do a snare flam? I think the grace note is your only option so far. You are right that it is limited, because it always plays ...

Re: Fermata
Michael,
Fermatas have no effect on playback until you assign a duration to it. Without a specific example of the passage you are working on, but there is almost always a way to make fermatas behave. If you can post the passage I'll be happy to see if I can help.

Back to tonality.
Another SoundCloud piece is up, if anyone would like to take a listen. This is Sir Granville Bantock's little chestnut, "The Pierrot of the Minute." All strings are divided a 2 throughout. I used Notion sounds for everything except the Timpani, which are from GPO. Here's the link: https://...

Re: Glissando to a chord goes to bottom note
Hi Michael, I don't know how to do this without putting "helper" notes on each downbeat, as suggested in the attached file. It plays back okay, but it may not be what you want to see on paper. If your project is for print-out, the only thing I can suggest is to leave the in-between bars bl...

Re: Vienna Ensemble and Problems with Transposing Instrument
Hi Michael, Unfortunately I am not a Vienna Ensemble owner, but I feel compelled to point out one item in your post — not that it will solve anything, but who knows...? If you set up a Bb Clarinet staff, the transposition should be set to Bb > Same Octave > Lower . At least that's how it is with Not...

Re: tuplets symbol up and down
I cannot always move the tuplets up and down to then go for the slurs. For sure this could be a way... Don't know why I can't... Am I missing something? Hi Rubens, The method I described works most of the time, but not always. It's not a perfect solution, only a work-around. Let's hope that it can ...
