Re: Plunger rule
From the ExpressionList.tpk file, the custom rule technique triggers related to plungers should be these: pgcd - "plunger" pgcg - "plunger closing" pghf - "half-plunger" pgop - "plunger opening" For your purposes, I guess pgcd is the appropriate one. I have no...

Re: grace-quarter, grace-8th, grace-16th, grace-32nd
But in Notion, they are actually NOT just visual cues. They affect Notion's playback (as they should). But it is very counter-intuitive that the time Notion takes to play two sixteenth grace notes don't fit within the same time as one eighth grace note. Especially because Notion cuts off the previou...

Re: Notion acquired by Presonus
It will certainly be interesting to see what PreSonus is planning. More resources are great, but resources come with a cost. And they have to know they can't compete with the established notation giants, so I assume their plan isn't large price increases. PreSonus might be able to get away with high...

Re: Tablature Symbol
Just to throw one more thought in here: Although Notion's violin instrument may not have different sound samples for the same pitch on different strings, if you have a VST instrument that does have that functionality, you can use custom rules and the TAB staff to check the string number and modify p...

Re: Custom Rules for Chris Hein Horns Compact (Group ID chba
For everybody's information, I've noticed a few problems with my ruleset, which I'm working on correcting. If anybody has any other suggestions for improvement, please post here or PM me and let me know. See Item #2 below for what is corrected by the attached version. 1. Repeated notes under a slur ...

Re: Indentation
So far, I've found the best system for me is to indent <rule> and </rule> to the same level, then the <if /> statements to the next level, and then the modification statements to a third level, like this: <rule name="implement straight mute, velo key"> <if flag="stra" /> <if not-...

Re: Indentation
As far as I can tell, you can use as many levels of indentation as you like, it doesn't affect anything. I use it in my rules, and as far as I can tell, so do most of Notion's own plugin rules. I know different text readers will display indentation differently, though. With Notepad++ it works very w...

Re: Converting Chords to Notes
Seemed like a simple one to me but I guess that's why I'm not a coder. Hi Michael, I'm not a coder either, but I can certainly see that such a feature, while quite magical and wonderful, would be way beyond the scope of a consumer application like Notion. Consider how many ways there are of voicing...

Re: Converting Chords to Notes
Dear Michael, There's not really a way for us to do that at this time. -Admin This is a shame, because Notion is VERY close to being able to do this: the program converts those rhythm slash chords into notes when it produces playback or outputs them to MIDI. So Notion is already capable of the &quo...

Re: Strat to write Rules ???
First, if you haven't already, you will want to download the Custom Rules document package from http://www.notionmusic.com/pdf/N4_Custom_Rules_Downloads.zip , and read the Custom Rules Instructions, Rule Conditions, and Rule Modifications files in that ZIP at the least. To get started quickly, I wou...
