Re: East West Symphonic Choirs

Thanks for your input, Otto, and thank you for posting the choral piece too. I think I have too many doubts to sink any money into any of the choir libraries at the moment. Regarding EWQLSC , I found a series of videos on YouTube and thought that working in WordBuilder looked rather easy. I've done ...

Re: East West Symphonic Choirs

Interesting, Surfwhammy . Thanks. I didn't know of this library at all. I have to say the demos don't sound good to me but I suspect it's the fault of the use of a terrible reverb which gives everything an almost metallic sheen. Very unrealistic. I also hate the GUI. I can appreciate what they're tr...

Re: East West Symphonic Choirs

Thanks for sharing your experience, DaddyO . That's quite depressing though. Is it really that difficult? Might it be easier to handle in a DAW? I also use Ableton Live. What are the presets in WordBuilder? I have in mind a Miserere which I want to get down on paper. The majority of the work will fe...

East West Symphonic Choirs

I was wondering if anyone could report on what it's like using EWQLSC with Notion now. I did read through everything I could find on here but it all dates back a little way now and I wondered if things are perhaps somewhat improved these days. The library seems to sound very good indeed and contains...

Re: Cannot add VSTs. "entry point function not found"

If you temporarily take the VSTs out of your VST folder and then open a Notion file, Notion should show "Missing" rather than "Enabled Effect" or "Enabled Instrument" within the VST manager window. You can then put your VSTs back into your VST folder and tell Notion whe...

Re: Cannot add VSTs. "entry point function not found"

It may also be worth trying to remove all VST instances and then point Notion to your VST folder again.

Re: Using MIXER

I notice you have quite a differential between your main instruments and the rest of the orchestra. Would your mix sound better overall if you simply pushed the rest of the orchestra up a little, perhaps around -1 - 0 dB?

Re: EWQLSO and Notion 4

Yes, Bill's right. They're all over the place. I've been exploring the keyswitches and experimenting with EWQLSO in Ableton Live but EW's implementation of them is, frankly, a mess.

Re: EWQLSO and Notion 4

Well, this is good news if we can get a redesigned library that actually works! It's been frustrating the hell out of me that I paid quite a bit of money for a very nice orchestra only to find it working so poorly in Notion that I had to keep returning to using Notion's native sounds simply to get s...
