Mac question (No. 1)

Me droogies: Kicking and screaming, I'm converting over to a Mac. Or to be more precise, I'm hanging on to a dying PC, but am transitioning to a Mac made available through the proverbial offer I could not refuse. Here's the first of what I expect to be many questions. Do the Audio Unit instruments, ...

Re: Flute Quartet in four movements

Otto:
You're right that the noun "weather" isn't typically used in this way in English, distinquishing one "weather" from another. But in this case I think it's very apt. I can't think of another word that would be better.

Re: Newbies Questions on Sound Libraries

Surapol:

No, that is not correct. You can change from one instrument to another on the same staff: Press Shift-I at the place on the staff where you want the change.
You can also set up different instruments for multiple voices on the same staff, but you'll have to consult the manual for that one.

Re: Philharmonik in Notion 4

Incidentally, I tried a few quick tests in Sonar X2 and running as a multi-channel VST in Notion, and it doesn't hang up the same way it does when you load through the Notion template. Something in the way they talk to each other? Wonder why the classical guitar and some others aren't listed under t...

Re: Philharmonik in Notion 4

I bought Philharmonik and put it on another drive too, and would also love to know the answer to that question. In my case it's not a 64-bit problem, it's an old computer problem.

section expansion sounds

I don't think there are any demos of expansion sounds on the new site, as there used to be. But so far as I know, there have never been any demos of the woodwind and brass sections. These have some added techniques, I see, but how do they differ otherwise from the regular samples? What about volume ...

do notions talk to each other?

I got an iPad for father's day, and since the price is right, I'm about to download Notion for iPad to go along with my desktop version. Generally, can the two versions synch with each other in any way? Could I make a sketch of something on the iPad and send it so it could be used in the desktop ver...

Re: section views

Failing something more elaborate, what about a simple toggle in the score setup view that would allow you to uncheck all the staffs in a score and then check the ones you want? In a long score, the check buttons beside each staff become so slow in response that it's quite cumbersome to use them.

section views

Although the hide/show feature in the setup window is fairly straight-forward, it could be friendlier. It would be nice if viewing all the staffs in a section were as easy as viewing sections in the mixer, where you can get to what you want in two clicks. The click-on option in the setup window does...
