Re: Triple concerto. Hopes

I'm not really qualified to comment on anything quite so atonal - I never made it out of the 19th century - but what I do know of it says that you're much better at it than I am. But I am pleased to find I'm not the only one writing concerti!

Re: Stylistic ideals (and a Sonata)

It seems to me that what you've described is basically a condensation of the history of music in general. Each period was building on the one that came before it, and it usually took awhile for anyone to fully realize that they were in a new period. For that matter, studying music history by dividin...

Re: My last composition with Notion 4

I tried to look it up, and the closest i could find was in Canada. If that's the one you had in mind, then point taken! You're music was right on!

Keep up the composing!

"Scenes From A Tudor Court"

Sorry I was out of the loop so long - somebody challenged me to write an operetta and that took awhile. But now I'm back with another concerto, this time featuring carillon - which was an interesting challenge from the start considering that the carillon is the instrument that does not play well wit...

Re: 1683

After listening to it, I had to go look up the battle itself for reference. I can see your music appearing in a film adaptation of the event.

Re: "Pebbles"

I would have added my name to your list of fans earlier, but I've been out of contact. But I'm thinking I'm just going to go to your Box account and listen to everything there to make sure I haven't missed anything!

Re: Orchestral piece in memory of a friend

A grand effort - I think your friend would be pleased.

That said, I'll have to admit that I am perhaps the last person to comment on this as I'm not a fat of atonality. But I did find myself wondering if atonal was what you had in mind. That's a decision you'll have to make.

Re: first constructed piece of work

Actually, the orchestration doesn't seem to be your weak point. The problem is that using the same measure over and over becomes repetitious rather quickly.

So... what sort of animation are you doing?

Re: A Fugue for the Fun of It

I like it! I thought I'd gotten clever by slipping in a neapolitan sixth, but I'll tip my had to you on this one! I'm really glad I don't base my ego on such things - I get to enjoy the good stuff coming from everybody else! And if I've managed to start something, with lots more fugues showing up......
