Re: Notion 4--->Logic--->VSL
Ok Thanks a lot! The last question: I promise! (excuse me: I like to work with Notion and I'm trying to figure out how to do better) :) could you tell me how do you assign the "Custom Rules" to an external MIDI port? Thank you! There are other folks who know a lot more about custom rules ...

Re: Notion 4--->Logic--->VSL
I'm not completely agree with what you say ... Let's start over . . . I currently use this setup: Sibelius ---> IAC Drivers ----> Logic Pro X ----> Vienna Ensemble Pro Sibelius plays through IAC Driver the Logic track, on which VEP instances are open. Setting the sound set of VEP in Sibelius, all t...

Re: First Composition
I'm still a Newbie (got Notion in June and had never composed music before that), but I have a follow up composition: https://soundcloud.com/jgsa/synth-summer Just looking at the other submissions here, I am still amazed at the quality of work and sound. I am having fun using Notion and as long as ...

Re: HACK: How to make pitch-shifted "instrument variants"...
In the spirit of Surfwhammy, I've attached copious screenshots of exactly how this is achieved, as well as some light analysis of what the sound frequencies look like and an audio sample of what it sounds like (I've used a clarinet for this particular example). Feel free to ping me with questions o...

Re: GPO Bass Clarinet PlugInData file needed
As an FYI type of thing for folks who might encounter this problem, if you are on the Mac, then these files are part of the Mac OS X application "package", and you can download the current version of NOTION 4 ("Notion-4.0.329-OSX.zip"), which when unzipped is "Notion.app&quo...

Re: Notion 4--->Logic--->VSL
No latency between VSL played by Sibelius and other Virtual Instruents played By Logic... Controlling latency is a matter of configuring the audio buffers for NOTION 4 and Logic Pro X correctly and using ReWire 2, where specifically ReWire 2 handles synchronization . . . If you have AU or VSTi virt...

Re: Notion 4--->Logic--->VSL
QUESTION: Is there a specific reason for having Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 hosted by or connected to Logic Pro X? QUESTION: Why not connect Vienna Ensemble Pro 5 to NOTION 4; use the VSTi version of Vienna Symphonic Library in NOTION 4; or use one of the predefined templates for Vienna Symphonic Library ...

Re: Going to buy a new Sting Library. Considering LASS...?
Surfwhammy, for your "sparkles" effect, would it perhaps be easier to move the composition over to a DAW for mixing and then draw different panning points? It would require working with either (a) the actual audio clips or (b) exported MIDI . . . Working with the actual audio would not be...

Re: Going to buy a new Sting Library. Considering LASS...?
Another option would be to upgrade to EWQLSO Platinum plus so that you have the 16bit version of all the instruments as well as the 24bit. 8GB should be fine for loading that. Also, the "lite" patches in the Notion EWQLSO instruments are not that lite, and may be just fine for you purpose...
