Re: Instrument Section Samples
Is there some way of Notion automatically switching to section samples when you indicate a4 or something like a unison indication? That would be sweet!

Re: Back using NOTION 3.
I think the only thing I really wish Notion would fix is the hairpin playback. I could swear in Notion 2 that if you had held notes over a crescendo, you would hear it get louder. Not so with N3 which has continually been a thorn in my side. Sibelius and Finale both trigger their respective librarie...

Re: Sibelius 7
I have ordered Sibelius 7 because it does have greater options as far as printing and layout go compared to Notion but based on everything I've heard out of the new sounds, no, they don't compare to Notion's LSO samples. The new brass section samples are pretty damn good and the strings are definite...

Back using NOTION 3.
Wow, it's actually really easy to work with. Having been on Sibelius for a while, I'm surprised at the transparency of N3's interface. I use it with EWQLSO and it sounds wonderful. I do wish there would be more options as far as printing and the look of the score when creating parts and such, but as...

Re: WHERE IS NOTION 4 AND LION SUPPORT????
For sheer speed of composing, nothing touches Notion and I have spent plenty of time in Sibelius land for the past year. The new S7 update with its 38gb library sounds like complete doo-doo. I even brought up Notion's superior sounds to Avid and they dismissed it. Big surprise. I do hope there will ...

Re: Sibelius 7
I think everything about the S7 library sounds horrid. Yes, the solo flute from N3 isn't that great either but the strings, especially short arts, are amazing.

Re: Sibelius 7
Yes, those sounds are terrible. How in the world can they take up 38 gb when Notion's infinitely superior sounds only take up 10??? I mean, even N1's sounds put these to shame....

Re: Back working with NOTION 3
Kyle, I wasn't sure you were still around! I guess the things that I highlighted in my earlier post are more profound issues than I led people to believe. The lack of scaling volume for hairpins is a huge problem. I also don't hear timbre affected by dynamics the same way I do in N2. These are funda...

Re: Back working with NOTION 3
i wasn't aware that Jarrett wasn't involved with Notion any longer. I will be returning to Notion 2.2 then as I found that better to compose and hear playback on. I know a few people that stuck with N2 and are composing lovely music on it.

Back working with NOTION 3
Well, it's a good news bad news thing. The good news is that, like before, it's fast and intuitive. I can fly around on this program moreso than Sibelius and Finale put together. Also, doing complex time sigs like 2+3/4 is totally easy. Don't ask me how to get it done in Sibelius cause I still don't...
