Re: Crossover Music Question
SurfWhammy, Thanks for your kind words about my video, and my music. Also, thanks for writing about the book about the Beatles. I'll have to check that out. As another example of attention to detail in the recording process, I'm reminded of my engineer, Alex Case -- who, by the way has worked on Gra...

Re: Crossover Music Question
You might get some ideas from my video on Organizing a Recording Project. It shows how I use Notion in my workflow, to combine orchestral instruments with jazz and rock.

Re: Distortion on electric guitar - solved
Yes, Brian got back to me right away. Notion support has been great! It is correct that removing the amp sim solves the problem. I also found that just lowering the gain on the amp sim seems to eliminate the distortion -- though I haven't tested this very thoroughly. My guess is that the default gai...

Distortion on electric guitar
In Notion 4 on Windows 7, I'm getting distortion on electric guitar parts, for chord voicings, even double-stops, although single-note lines seem undistorted. When I open the same file in Notion 3, I do not hear the distortion on this part.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Notion 4 early impressions/opinions
To Coda now seems to work. In Notion 3 I'd place the To Coda in the cursor and put the cursor right on the barline going into the first ending, but Notion would always play the second ending again. I opened one of my Notion 3 files that had this problem. I deleted and re-entered the To Coda and it s...

Re: Notion 4 Bundled Sounds Download
Kyle,
Thanks to the Notion crew for posting the sample files for individual download. That worked for me, and I am very grateful to now have Notion 4 up and running.

Re: Notion 4 Bundled Sounds Download
FYI: I re-started my download, using the BundleSoundsDownloader application, a few hours ago. It has timed out a few times and I've clicked retry and it does resume, but it is at 48KB/s. This is after your message about increasing bandwidth. I am on a cable modem which is otherwise very fast. Steve ...

Re: Notion 4 early impressions/opinions
I've been trying to download the sounds all day, and it keeps timing out. I've restarted again and it's creeping along at 24 KB/s on a cable modem connection that is usually very fast. The good news is that this means the new version is being downloaded a lot. The bad news is that there will be a lo...

2 new CDs using Notion on almost every track
I used Notion in the production of my two new CDs, "Music to Cook By" and "Music to Dine By," which accompany my wife's cookbook, "No Fret Cooking." For a limited time, you can hear the entire CDs (wav files), for free, at: http://soundcloud.com/stevecarter/sets/music-t...
