techniquelist.xml
Hi, just updated to the latest version (yeh, I've been a bit behind), and I used to add this to the afformentioned file: <instrument-technique force-valid='yes'> <link>midi</link><instrument-id>0</instrument-id><technique>norm</technique> </instrument-technique> and many more like these, and they us...

Re: New rules file problems
Nope, I'm sorry, nothing that should make it not work. The only thing is, do you have the velocity map "xxxx" defined? It shouldn't stop it from working, but I just can't try it now, and that's the only thing that doesn't seem normal. I'll try this later, but I have to get to work now. Any...

Re: New rules file problems
I had this with EW when I first tried to figure out how the rules worked, but I can't remember what the problem was, but it had to do something with me thinking about it the wrong way. Can yu post the whole rule you have the problem with? Actualy not just the rule, but the entire section, because th...

Re: Notion 3 EWQL templates eating too much ram
however, if i go back to drawing in keyswitches You don't have to draw them, just create the rules so notion will take care of it. I've even created a rule editor for this purposewith a GUI, so you don't have to write xml files (tho I haven't updated it since the latest 2 patches, due to lack of in...

Re: Notion 3 EWQL templates eating too much ram
Guys, why don't u use the midi-out ports? Ok, it's only 4 midi outs, but that should cover any large orchestral template if u use keyswitched instruments. I run a full orchestra with ew pianos, SD2, choirs and a few RA instruments as needed, sometimes some MOR (tho not too often), and it all fits in...

Re: Play 2.0.8 + EWQL
Thanks for the heads-up, I didn't upgrade to 2.x so far, because my present installation works perfectly, and if it ain't broken, don't fix it, but I was thinking about it, so thanks for the warning that I might have problems.

Re: Question about Notion and Play 64bit
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M815B0S5 This was done by simply writing the score, recording some expression automation curves and recording the output in one go in an audio software using midi-out ports and my custom rules. I wish it had some humanizing stuff, but for a mock-up I think it sounds quit...

Re: Question about Notion and Play 64bit
Well, I only have EWQLSO, and I set up my own rules (I've rewritten them for the internal vsti as well when I first got N3). I'm not saying this is the good way to use it, but it works quite well for me, and I don't know any other way to use all my 8 gigs of RAM, and I don't use any other midi-editi...

Nope, I use loopbe. It gives you 30 virtual cables, and it's the only one I know of that works in a 64 bit environment.
