Surf - I think you're right, it's the upper register of the cello's that's creating that sound. I did compare with my exported .wma and it is more prevalent on soundcloud, due to compression I suppose. BTW, these are not notion samples, they are Hollywood Strings. A few comments. I wonder if the the cello line(nice melody) would work better as a trumpet. It feels as though it's battling for our ears with the piano.
