Re: No trills on harpsichord?!

There are no real trills for the Harpsichord sample. They are aware of it and may fix it in the future.

Re: Multitrack sequencer possible?

Do you have a MIDI device for your iPad? That's the only way to do real time recording. But real-time is never going to be the best way to work with a notation program. It will work for simple things, but anything remotely complicated won't work. Notation is only an approximation of what we play and...

Re: How to import MIDI to an already existing song?

Ghetto, you've already found the answer. The problem was in your MIDI file. MIDI files are performance-oriented. Notion is notation-based and notation is very imprecise compared to performance. For example the smallest note value available in Notion is the 128th note, but please don't ever write one...

Re: "Cracks" in playback

Most likely you are overtaxing your computer. In the Preferences, click the audio tab and try increasing the buffer size and see if that helps.

Re: Note Input Using Only Computer Keyboard

I have to agree with Johnny. Notion is not an engraving program. I think of it as more of a notation-based composition and arranging tool. While I can crank out a score pretty quickly as a copyist, that's not what the program is for really. I've found I actually prefer to work in edit mode (mouse en...

Re: Tenuto line vs. semi-staccato?

I've found in a lot of cases I'll include articulations for playback purposes and hide them as they aren't needed by live players. A great example is back accenting jazz lines. Any decent jazz play knows to accent the upbeats slightly, but no one expects accents to be shown on all upbeats. Using acc...

Re: Thinking of getting Notion before sale ends

Notion really isn't a replacement for Finale and Sibelius which to my mind are engraving programs. When I first got Notion, I was looking at it that way, but now I'm thinking of it more like a notation-based DAW, but not quite. I've learned to work differently use Notion. For one it's really easy to...

Re: Thinking of getting Notion before sale ends

What drum notation are you missing? Do you mean it doesn't automatically choose the correct noteheads? It does some of the time, but other times you'll have to manually change noteheads, mainly on cymbals

As to recording the sustain pedal, if you can use a sequencer staff to record CC data.

Re: New user question re: chords

I don't have a MIDI interface anymore, just USB. But it would be easy to export the MIDI file and import it into the track. The biggest problem I have is the voice leading from the chord library tends to be not so good. I wish I could add to it. I know that each file stores the chords you use, but y...
