Re: Kirk Hunter sale.
I just took advantage of this last weekend and it is still available. Glad I did. For $149 Diamond is a great deal!

Re: Cannot add VSTs. "entry point function not found"
If you are running in Vista / Win 7, try running Notion as Administrator (right click on the Notion exe --> properties --> compatibility --> check run as administrator).

Re: Orchestral mock ups
Some great suggestions. I was talking with a friend of mine who graduated from recording school and his suggestions were directly in line with your's Surfwhammy. I used to have a good near-field monitor set and amp, but sold them along with the rest of my equipment (<slaps face>) a few years ago. Yo...

Re: Orchestral mock ups
I've been using a similar strategy without the rewire portion. I prefer to compose in Notion and them import (via midi) into Sonar X2. For effects routing, I've been experimenting with a configuration like your second sample: Violin|----->Send (Pre)------>String Reverb bus------>Master |----->output...

Re: VST-Spy : a free utility to reveal VST plugin IDs
Your timing is unbelievable! I had just downloaded VST-Spy yesterday and found that a certain VST caused it to crash (probably because I'm in Win 7 64). I just ran VST-Scanner and it worked great. Thanks for posting this! Now I can get the plug-in IDs for the VSTi's in Kontakt Komplete (my wife boug...

nTempo Export to Midi
Hi all - I seem to be having trouble with nTempo when I export a score to midi. I did a quick sample score with an nTempo overdub which I then exported to midi. The first measure is a tempo, the second is at 200%, the third at 10% and the fourth has 3 quarter notes at about 1000% and one quarter not...

Re: Notion crashes making large Miro score
I use Miroslav and Surfwhammy of course has it right. Here are some things I have found that help. You didn't say if you have a 64-bit OS and can run the 64-bit version of Notion. If so, you can try using jBridge. 32-bit Windows has a limit of 2GB of RAM for a process. In terms of 32-bit Notion, tha...

Re: Notion to DAW or DAW to Notion ?
I used to go the route of DAW to notation software but the process of cleaning up the score was so tedious that I often just hand-entered everything to create the score. Many times when playing notes into a DAW, the end result sounds great, but the actual note values are less than perfect because of...
