Since Steinberg scooped up all the ex-Sibelius developers to create a new notation product, this move by Presonus might be a similar strategy.

But never mind that. I wasn't trying to make any point, just mentioning what I've seen other people doing (or talking about doing) with TAB.

I've seen discussion elsewhere on this topic (but can't remember where). I'm not sure what notation app they were talking about, but the gist was that using TAB with Vn, Va, etc. could specify fingering and check for the playability of double stops

There's no way to comment on rules without knowing something about the library they're controlling...

The kind of script you describe would be more for live playing. You might be better severed by having keyswitches/CCs select the legato patch in Kontakt.

Cutting the staccato notes short with <duration-change amount="0.80" /> does the trick. I added that to my original rules. So now the performance is correct, but when I just play notes on the keyboard, it doesn't reset to the main patch. It selects the keyswitch from staccato, but doesn't ...

When you type the single quote it will bring up whatever the last express entry that was used. Just type the new one and it will change to that.

Both of those option result is correct playback of the legato, but if the note that precedes the legato passage is a staccato, there's an added note, almost like a grace note.
