Re: Beaming

Of course, using the second voice you would have to position those notes in the bar using rests, which may add more clutter than it is worth...

Re: Beaming

A somewhat kooky workaround could be to use the 'second voice' for some of the notes, though of course the note stems would then face in the opposite orientation. Custom beaming is a feature of the iOS app 'Symphony Pro' so there is certainly a cheaper alternative than the 'parent' non-iOS version o...

Re: Drum Notation

It does seem pretty well supported. I don't have much expertise in this area so can't give a verdict based on any depth of knowledge, but the 'grace note' looking flam notation and 'crossed stem' roll notation are available and do simulate such effects in audio playback (I've just looked them out an...

Re: MIDI export: Problems with Drums

It seems that this is really hard to do in a sophisticated way because inflections such as open hat or cymbal bell are not mapped to unique notes by Notion but flagged in some other way. The following XML seems to work in the free PC utility 'Midi File Mapper' to map basic Notion drums to General Mi...

Re: Specifics about Notion on New iPad?

Thorrild, If you can make a test file I'll gladly try it on my iPad v3. I can capture the audio playback if you like. Note though: I don't currently have any of the additional instrument packs, just what the app is supplied with as bought. I'm really very unimpressed that the company has so neglecte...

Score Display Jumps Back to Top Unexpectedly?

I have been finding that when I do certain operations, such as adding a new bar line at the end of the score, the app spontaneously jumps back to the beginning of the piece and I have to scroll all the way back down to continue my work. Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Re: MIDI export: Problems with Drums

UPDATE: Could somebody please post the default Notion drum mapping to help me set about fixing this? I can likely find a way to automate translation remapping to GM MIDI if I know the starting point, but manually figuring out the Notion values for every drumset sound would be a grind and would lead ...

MIDI export: Problems with Drums

I have done a lots of work with digital audio, but little with MIDI and I am new to this rather exciting app. I intend to use the app to put together scores I can then export to MIDI as guide tracks for studio recording. This would be fine, where it not for the fact that drum parts tend just not to ...
