Re: how to change volume of a long-held note?
tried cc 1,7,11 none of them work ps: i load/use 3rd party's samples in kontakt format The only thing I could think of is that maybe you are switching MIDI channels, because there is a known bug in Notion where CC data that changes volume/expression/etc. throughout a long note does not get sent to ...

Re: Rules - What's new in Notion 4?
Is the basic information in the Notion 3 custom rules document still valid? You will definitely want to read the new Notion 4 custom rules documentation, because there are a lot of new conditions that can be checked and a lot of new modifications you can apply to the notes being processed. BUT... i...

Re: NOTION 4 forgets to switch channels?
I agree it is a significant bug that has taken far too long to recognize and correct, but note that it only comes up in specific circumstances. It should only effect crescendos and decrescendos that occur over a sustained note. Notion does send the CC#11 data (or CC#7, whatever applies here) to the ...

Re: all technique codes (4 letter)
I can double-check later, but my recollection is that Notion turns measured tremolos into repeated notes before being processed by custom rules, so they are not treated like detectable techniques. I believe that only unmeasured tremolo can be detected as a custom rules technique.

Re: Custom rule hairpin problems...
Definitely a known bug. The forum Admin stated in April of this year that a ticket was submitted on the issue and was hopeful that it would be resolved soon, but so far that has not happened. http://forum.notionmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3294#p13557 I don't have Bidule, but I believe it has ...

Re: Plugin ID for IK Sample Tank to run Symphony Strings 2
You can determine the plugin ID of any VST by opening a staff in Notion with that VST plugin assigned to it, then press "Shift-I". The first four characters in the parentheses listed after the VST name is the unique VST ID. In Notion 4, you can just use this four character identifier as yo...

Re: pp to not affect payback
As I understand it, gray just means that no manual velocity has been applied, and that the velocity will therefore be defined by the applied dynamic marking. It doesn't correspond with a particular velocity value or a particular dynamic marking. The manual isn't always as detailed as I would like, b...

Re: pp to not affect payback
When altering velocity on notes, does that override the dynamics-velocities? And, what is default dynamics/velocity? mp? mf? Yes, manually applied or overdubbed velocities take precedence over the dynamic markings (except for chord playback using rhythm slashes, but that doesn't apply to your situa...

Re: Chord entry
In the JazzCord font, you can use ! and it will show as the flat symbol. But for the standard style, as far as I can tell you're right, there may not be a way to get proper symbols. See the other Jazz Chords thread for more on how to get various symbols in text boxes using the JazzCord font, includi...
