Re: What happened to Notion?
Apparently, the astounding pace with which Notion staff supplied us with incremental updates for a while has created a demand and sense of entitlement I haven't seen before among software users. As a recent user of Notion, I was unaware of this. I only intended to respond to what appears to be NOTI...

Re: N3 and KORE player
Just a note - NI recently discontinued the Kore. So if it's an issue with Kore, there won't be a fix coming.

Re: What happened to Notion?
The suggestion has been made ( not from NOTION Music staff) that NOTION Music is looking to the iOS platform to supplement their revenue stream. It's been further argued that this is somehow a good thing for current Notion 3 users. I disagree. If (and it's an if ) NOTION Music has to look for to oth...

Re: Up Strum
SoniVox has a number of guitar sample libraries that aren't comprehensive, but certainly sufficient for a lot of work. For example, for the Stratocaster, they have major and minor chords with down, up and picked strum options. With the acoustic guitar, they have major, minor and dominant 7th chords...
Re: Up Strum
You've pointed out that impracticality of using a sample library to capture all the various sorts of guitar chords. However, NOTION could fairly easily support a smaller group of chords (Maj, min, min7, sus4) and vastly improve the sound quality. Given the option of using a MIDI guitar strum with a ...
Re: Up Strum
Differentiating an "up" strum from a "down" strum isn't an advanced technique, it's basic. And while your Computer Science background and development of advanced software may give you a different perspective, to my (apparently uneducated) ears, the guitar strums are unmusical, me...
Re: Up Strum
I've used and created sampled guitar strums. I've even created my own Soundfonts with guitar strums. If I wanted to go that route, I'd just pick up my guitar.
There are a lot of possible workarounds, but I shouldn't have to go that route. It just seems an odd omission.

Re: Up Strum
Actually, Progression just plays all of the notes in a chord at once. Although the strum sounds the strings "almost instantaneously", the up and downstroke really are different sounds, and NOTION and Progression should support them. Otherwise, the guitar playback sounds very mechanical an...
Re: Miroslav and Notion 3
I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. The "popping" only occurs under Notion, not with external programs. I only mentioned other programs (Reaper, actually) as an example of non-NOTION programs which had similar resource issues on my machine. Thanks for explaining that NOTION is loadin...

Re: Miroslav and Notion 3
Thanks, but again, my experience is different. From a blank score, if I add a new instrument from Notion, it happens almost instantly. From GPO, it takes about 6 seconds to create the staff. Adding additional GPO instruments takes a second or two, depending on the number of samples in the instrument...
