Re: Real time record
I believe that recording only works with an attached keyboard via the camera USB dongle to MIDI. I recently did some work with Notion this way.

Re: Nestled brackets?
Thank you so much. I attempted to do so by making the measures into two 2/4 measures, each beat equaling the tempo of one dotted quarter in the original measure. I think that works, too (with a triplet on one of the beats), but your method keeps this in the original time signature and all. Thank you.

Re: How to deal with a work with more than one movement?
I think you will need to look at the Windows/Mac version of Notion to accomplish what you want to accomplish with both a large continuous score, and for A4 paper. As you work on the iPad, you can simply treat each movement as its own file; if necessary you can export to MusicXML and open in Sibelius...

Nestled brackets?
I have a score that I'm entering into Notion to become an accompaniment. As the song progresses, there is a measure in 6/8 time, where four eighth notes are spread out over that 6/8 time, with brackets of 2 over 3. This works. But in another point, one of the the eighth notes is split into its own t...

Re: Notion for iPad Playback Requests (Priority #1)
Seeing this old post brought up, I need to say that every request made in that post has been fulfilled. I would like to be able to adjust the name of the audio file that is exported before it is saved. But otherwise I know of no easier and faster way to create audio rehearsal files for a choir. And ...

Re: How to connect a guitar to the iPad for real-time record
The Fishman Triple Play has been recommended as well (about $400) and comes packaged with the desktop version of Progression.

It's the little things that make you appreciate this app.
I just worked with swapping voices the first time on the iPad. What a joy, particularly if you have scanned the score. I own Finale (Notion desktop, too), and if you want to swap voices, it requires the full measure. If a song scans in the wrong voices in part of the measure, you have to recreate th...

Re: Shortening final staff line of score
I just looked and I can't see a way. That might not be there...yet. Be sure to e-mail support and let them know you want that on the change list (it's probably already on the list...but it's worth sending in anyway.

How to connect a guitar to the iPad for real-time recording
Hello all,
I'm trying to give some advice to someone asking about real-time MIDI guitar recording.
What do you need to do to convert guitar to MIDI for real-time recording? Is there a recommended guitar to MIDI converter?
Thanks!
Chris

A Kickstarter project that might be of interest (C.24)
This is not directly related to Notion on the iPad, but Miselu is offering a Kickstarter product on a twenty-four key piano keyboard case for the iPad that is planning on using the latest Bluetooth standards for MIDI. Multiple keyboards can be attached to make a larger keyboard No, I'm not involved ...
