Re: Mixing time signatures
Thorrild, I'm not sure if N2 could do 4/4 against 5/4, but it certainly could properly notate and playback 3/4 or 2/4 against 6/8, and similar metrical configurations, which are not all that uncommon. So, again, I would ask why this functionalaity (which Finale could and still does properly) was tak...

Re: Mixing time signatures
The irony to this issue is that Notion 2 used to properly notate and playback mixed time signatures (polymeters), and this feature was taken away (!) in Notion 3. In fact, the option of assigning a different time to a single stave is still there in the Time Signature dialogue for both Notion 3 and 4...

Soft Attack Shortcut?
Does anyone know if there is a shortcut key for applying the soft attack articulation? So far, it is the only articulation that I have to apply thorugh the select-note, right-click, Note, Articulation process.
Am I missing something in the manual?
Thanks!

Re: Cup Mute Bug
pcartwright, I concur. There are a number of problems with staff techniques changes, including the concept that staff techniques can and should be used for continuing techniques but in many cases do not. There are also a few *very* common techniques that are missing and should be added to all instru...

Re: Cup Mute Bug
Kyle,
You are correct. So far as I have tested, I can switch from any mute to another with no problem. But once I switch to cup, then there's no way out of it until I evoke "normale".
Thanks for looking into it,
DrH

Re: Alto Flute, Please!
Supposing that upper button is meant to be choosen to agree, then yes, I agree. ;) Yes, the upper bottom is "Yes". It seems that if users select the red background format for this forum, then polls are difficult to read because both the question and answers are in a white font that all bu...

Re: Tied notes sustaining frull value
Just wanted to add an additional thought that notating long, tied notes is very common in scores and that it is left up to the player and/or conductor where the player with take a breath.
Therefore, why should N3 saddle us with having to make/notate such performative decisions?

Woodwind Trills Problem
I just want to keep alive the fact that the N3 woodwind trills are *very* frustrating in that they have a start delay to them (the delay varying from instrument to instrument, with the clarinet being the worse) that at even moderately quick tempos will cause the trill not to be heard at all (!). Thi...

Alto Flute, Please!
Notion is now missing only one of the basic traditional instuments; namely, the alto flute. Given that it has been hyped that Notion has been used as the complete performance orchestra for performance from Ballet to Broadway, how can the alto flute be ignored for so long (especially in the latter ca...
